I had a very good impression on Oreimo's OP only to find out that its music composer is livetune's KZ, which is one of my favorite vocaloid composers. This is the first time I heard ClariS sing (maybe) but I loved her voice in a heartbeat ^^/ Nice job for AIC once again XDw

PS 1 . AIC was also responsible for Nyankoi right XDw? is the Kosaka Kyousuke in Oreimo related to Kosaka Junpei in Nyankoi >w< they also look similar XDww <3

I suck at drawing flowers >w< drawing them one by one for the BG, basing it on a picture I found on the net XDww you could already see the colors I've done for Kud ^^/ she looks pretty alive now XDw <3

drawing the skirt pattern is always better than using PS' pattern maker XDw

PSのパッタンメーカを使うよりパッタンを描くの方がもっと良いだと思う

One of my friends told me that the catch phrase came from Phantasmagoria of Flower View (aka Touhou 9.0) which also incidentally stamps Cirno with the number 9 on the user manual - tagged as バカ XDwww lulz

Spriteを作ってみた level 1.0

I based the proportions from Ahruon's sprite tutorial XDw He used a program called "Character Raiser 1999", but in my case I used Graphics Gale. Sprite making programs tend to be simple, so probably there is no significant difference between the two. (unfortunately it seems that CR1999's home page is already dead so I couldn't actually compare it)

Sprite Making Process

I just want to share a video where Ahruon demonstrates how to create sprites XDw This is obviously not Photoshop - many say that PS is already an overkill application for making sprites. One application I have used before is Graphics Gale which comes free for the trial version (which I think it's quite decent for starters) ^^ Easy to make XDw? think again ~

some pointers:
- make use of a sprite template (for beginners)
- learn to limit you color palette
- have patience - zoom to the max

an overview of the steps:
- sketch the frame
- flesh out the shapes with base colors (having a base image will help you decide on the colors palette faster)
- adjust parts of the image
- put shadows and highlights (Ahruon is doing it at the same time lulz, I normally do the shadows first before highlighting)
