Spriteを作ってみた level 1.0

I based the proportions from Ahruon's sprite tutorial XDw He used a program called "Character Raiser 1999", but in my case I used Graphics Gale. Sprite making programs tend to be simple, so probably there is no significant difference between the two. (unfortunately it seems that CR1999's home page is already dead so I couldn't actually compare it)

Sprite Making Process

I just want to share a video where Ahruon demonstrates how to create sprites XDw This is obviously not Photoshop - many say that PS is already an overkill application for making sprites. One application I have used before is Graphics Gale which comes free for the trial version (which I think it's quite decent for starters) ^^ Easy to make XDw? think again ~

some pointers:
- make use of a sprite template (for beginners)
- learn to limit you color palette
- have patience - zoom to the max

an overview of the steps:
- sketch the frame
- flesh out the shapes with base colors (having a base image will help you decide on the colors palette faster)
- adjust parts of the image
- put shadows and highlights (Ahruon is doing it at the same time lulz, I normally do the shadows first before highlighting)

Angel Beats Final Scene Real Location

It seems that the location of the final scene of Angel Beats has finally been spotted in Shibuya. Probably this will be another Otaku holy ground - specially for Angel Beats fans.

Bon Voyage Akatsuki XD !!

Early this morning JAXA succesfully launched Akatsuki along with Ikaros into outer space ^w^

Akatsuki Launch Rescheduled

Miku's Orbiter launch was delayed due to severe weather conditions with massive volumes of clouds in the sky (not to mention the frozen layers that covered the launch site). After careful weather predictions it was decided to reschedule the launch on Friday May 21 at 6:58:22 AM JST. A live launch report will be provided by JAXA through the internet via http://www.jaxa.jp/countdown/f17/live/index_e.html which will begin at exactly 6:30:00 AM JST.
